The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) is responsible for accrediting dental, dental hygiene, dental specialty and dental assisting education programs in Canada. For the purpose of certification and licensure in Canada, only programs that are accredited by CDAC are considered accredited.
United States/ CODA-Accredited International Programs
Oral health education programs in the United States are accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). CDAC recognizes CODA-accredited programs in the fields of general dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting level II, and dental specialties.
CDAC recognizes two CODA-accredited international programs under our reciprocal agreement.
Turkey: Yeditepe University
Yeditepe University’s dental education program has been accredited by CODA as of February 1, 2024. Graduates of the dental program at Yeditepe University who obtained their dental diploma after February 1, 2024 will be considered graduates of a CODA-accredited program.
Students who graduated prior to February 1, 2024 will not be considered graduates of a CODA-accredited program.
Saudi Arabia: King Abdulaziz University
King Abdulaziz University’s dental education program has been accredited by CODA as of August 1, 2019. Graduates of the dental education program at King Abdulaziz University who obtained their dental diploma after August 1, 2019 will be considered graduates of a CODA-accredited program.
Students who graduated prior to August 1, 2019 will not be considered graduates of a CODA-accredited program.
