CDAC 2026 Program Fee Information
Historically, the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) has published a five-year program fee schedule. The current fee schedule applies only to 2026, reflecting the ongoing development of a new funding model with its funding partners.
The 2026 fee schedule reflects a 4% increase approved by the CDAC Board in November 2025. Fees for 2025 are included in this document for reference purposes only.
The fee schedule helps institutions understand how the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) manages the financial aspects of accreditation and provides a framework to plan for future expenses.
The past, current, or future accreditation status of a dental program or service has no bearing upon the fees to be paid. Only a lapse or withdrawal of accreditation status would result in an interruption in the process; and the institution would be charged the fee for an initial site visit when the dental program or service is surveyed once again.
Please note that the “annual” cycle fees are calculated based on:

The annual payment plan helps institutions budget and plan for future expenses. Accredited educational programs are charged an annual fee by CDAC, which is invoiced each January.

Dental Assisting Programs in Ontario and Quebec
In jurisdictions where regulatory authority contributions are not provided, dental assisting programs, requesting an accreditation survey, are required to pay an initial site visit fee.
The fee is based on a formula determined by CDAC, which represents the costs of conducting a site visit added to a percentage of administrative costs assigned to preparing and reviewing the accreditation survey report.
Fees are invoiced by CDAC prior to the site visit. For additional information on the specific formula, please contact CDAC.
New Publicly Funded Dental, Dental Speciality, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting Programs
New publicly funded educational programs applying for initial accreditation must pay the initial site visit fee (see chart below), which CDAC invoices prior to the visit.

Accredited Programs at Private Institutions
New Program – Private Institution

Health Facility Dental Services
Health Facilities are charged their accreditation fee before each site visit, as shown in the chart below. Because the site visit requires the accreditation survey team to examine each facility, fees are calculated based on the number of sites.

Non-Hospital-Based Dental Residency Programs
New Programs
A new dental residency program seeking initial accreditation must pay the initial site visit fee listed in the chart below. The site visit requires the accreditation survey team to examine each health facility site where the hospital dental internship or residency program rotates, so fees are calculated based on the number of sites.
The second accreditation survey takes place five years after the initial survey, at which point the program becomes eligible for re-survey. During the year of the second survey, the program must pay the new site visit fee as shown in the chart below.
After the second survey, the program is invoiced annually.
